Yes, SP2 for Windows Server 2008 is being beta tested by a number of Technology Adoption Program customers, starting next week.</p>
<p>The main items: Hyper-V RTM is included, and a power profile enhancement. </p>
<p>The actual release date is likely to be months away (but no surprises there).</p>

And they <a target="_blank" href="http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=1643">aim to deliver it before Windows 7 is released</a>. Um, no real surprises there either. In fact, we would have been surprised if Windows 7 came out before SP2.</p>
<p>This will also extend to an SP2 for Windows Server 2008 (keep in mind that there was no SP1 for Windows Server 2008 &#8211; that will be skipped so as to avoid confusion &#8211; <a target="_blank" href="http://arstechnica.com/journals/microsoft.ars/2008/10/14/vista-sp2-and-server-2008-sp2-watch-this-space">Ars Technica explains why</a>).</p>
